trends to try - floral prints

Floral prints are always a staple for spring, and this year is no exception. And here in New York, the weather is FINALLY beginning to warm up, and spring finally seems to have sprung.

And I don't know about you, but it's putting me in the mood to finally break out some floral in my wardrobe!

Here is how this classic style has been making a splash on the runways:

{Ralph Lauren}
{Zac Posen}

As many of us spend a large majority of time in an office, it's nice to be able to find a fun way to work this light and romantic trend into a professional setting:

1. Modcloth
2. H&M
3. Jimmy Choo
4. Tory Burch

I also can't wait to rock this trend over a seasonable spring weekend. This outfit makes me think of an afternoon stroll in the park with Bryan!

1. American Apparel
2. Rag & Bone
3. Tilly's
4. Bauble Bar
5. Jimmy Choo

And how do YOU plan to rock floral prints as spring progresses?

trends to try - black + white

There are so many great trends that are being displayed everywhere this season.

One of the biggest ones is black and white!

Now these colors have been neutral staples for any girl's wardrobe since the beginning of time, but now they're hot in a big way and have been all over the runways since a few weeks ago during Fashion Week.

{Marc Jacobs}

{3.1 Phillip Lim}

Of course, there are few things I find more fun then taking the chic looks of the runway and transcribing them to work for every day wear.

Since I spend much of my time at work, I'm always trying to find fun ways to be fashionable and office appropriate.

Here's a great way to rock this trend in the office:

1. Rag & Bone
2. J. Crew
3. Steve Madden
4. Cole Haan
5. Kate Spade

The look below can work for a more casual feel with flats, or even a night out with heels or wedges:

1. Zara
2. Ralph Lauren Blue
3. Bauble Bar
4. Tory Burch
5. Kate Spade
6. Betsey Johnson

I can't wait to try out this awesome trend as spring rolls on.

Now how are you feeling about this hot trend?

Happy Friday!

wedge sneakers

I have always loved trying out new trends and seeing what they are about. But every once and a while a trend comes along that I just cannot get on board with.

Wedge sneakers are one of those trends.

{Target}
Maybe it's because I see sneakers as something to run and work out in. Or maybe it's because I just find them to be just plain ugly. Whatever it is, this hot new form of footwear bothers me.

I love shoes a lot, I own countless pairs. I also love sneakers.

I even have four pairs of Converses.

It almost seems wrong to me to mix the classic summer look of a wedge with the sporty look of a sneaker.

Celebrities seem to be all over this trend though:

People are calling this the next comfy shoe choice, but I just can't get behind that. Wedges and heels are for fashion, not for comfort.

If you want to be comfortable, try flats, smoking slippers or flip flops..

Or how about old fashioned sneakers?

Just a thought.

How do YOU feel about this trend on the rise?

spring nail trends 2013

When it comes to following trends, I definitely like to take whats hot at the moment and mix it in with my usual style. I don't like to follow things blindly (For instance, apparently short suits are in this season? Thanks but no thanks.) However, when it comes to the hot nail colors, while I definitely have my staples (Just like every other girl on Long Island) I'm always willing to at least give the new trends a try! Here's what's looking hot this season that I'm most excited about:

 Pastels {Zoya, Butter, Essie}

Pastels are ALWAYS a staple of the spring, and that goes even more so this season! Besides adding little additions into my wardrobe, I'm so excited to rock some of these colors on my hands!

Nudes are always a staple but with the apparent death of nail art they are back this season in a big way, but with some twists with some tans, cocoas, and metallic finishes.

To help ease everyone in from winter to spring, instead of breaking out the bright red start with a coral!

I'm really excited to try out all of these colors in the next few months! What spring nail colors are you most excited about?
